According to Deadline, Wild Card and Sight Unseen have both been picked up by The CW for 2024. Wild Cards is produced by Blink49 Studios, Piller/Segan, Front Street Pictures, and commissioning broadcaster CBC. Sight Unseen is also produced by Front Street Pictures and Blink49 Studios in association with Sisters Troubetzkoy Productions as well as commissioning broadcaster CTV, Deadline reports.
Both series were developed by The CW in partnership with CTV and CBC, according to Deadline. The series will air on CBC and CTV as well as The CW.
Sight Unseen follows Tess Avery, a homicide detective who must quit her job after she is clinically diagnosed as blind and almost kills her partner. She is connected with Sunny Patel, an agoraphobic professional seeing-eye guide when she joins an assistance app. Sunny helps Tess face obstacles and solve crimes remotely with an earpiece and a hidden camera.
The series stars Dolly Lewis (The Dutchman’s Pipe, Pale as Ale) as Tess Avery and Agam Darshi (Funny Boy, Sanctuary) as Sunny Patel.
Wild Cards is a crime procedural comedy that follows Max, a clever woman who has made a transient living by scamming people, and Ellis, a demoted detective who has been on the maritime unit for the previous year. The two end up working together to solve a local crime when Max is arrested.
It stars Giacomo Gianniotti (Luca, Grey’s Anatomy) as Ellis and Vanessa Morgan (My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Riverdale) as Max.
“Wild Cards and Sight Unseen are two unique, binge-worthy shows that reflect The CW’s commitment to compelling, top-tier storytelling that will appeal to our loyal fans and attract a wide range of new viewers,” the CW’s Head of Scripted Programming Liz Wise Lyall said, according to Deadline, “We are thrilled to collaborate with our partners at Blink49 Studios, Front Street Pictures, Piller/Segan and Sisters Troubetzkoy Productions to bring these dynamic series to life and highlight just how expansive The CW brand can be.”
