Wil Wheaton Fires Back At Stephen Miller Over Patrick Stewart Tribute

Wil Wheaton (Stand by Me, The Big Bang Theory) had harsh words for White House Official Stephen Miller, who posted on a thread paying tribute to late Star Trek star Sir Patrick Stewart (X-Men, Star Trek: Picard), according to MEAWW News.

Stewart was a highly influential Hollywood star who left a lasting mark on the big screen, small screen, and theater stages. He was the long-term face of some of the most well-known and successful franchises, including Star Trek and X-Men. The actor passed away on Wednesday at 86 after battling alzehiemers disease and Lewy body dementia.

After the announcement of Stewart’s death, Miller posted on Threads Saturday, paying tribute to the actor. Miller called Stewart, according to MEAWW News, “one of the most impactful actors in the history of film, television and theater.” This post garnered thousands of replies, with many targeting Miller and condemning him for speaking out on the actor’s death due to his controversial character.

Wheaton, who co-starred alongside Stewart in Star Trek: The Next Generation, disapproved of Miller commenting and snapped back at Miller with an explicit statement demanding, “Stephen Miller, on behalf of Star Trek, and everyone who knew and loved him, keep my Captain’s name out of your mouth, according to MEAWW News. Wheaton went on to claim, “ He despised you, and everything you stand for.”

Wheaton speaking on behalf of Stewart isn’t surprising considering their close relationship after they both worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation. The show ran for seven years from 1987 to 1994, with Wheaton starring as Wesley Crusher and Stewart in his iconic role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. The two characters appeared together multiple times throughout the series run.

Soon after Stewart’s death was announced on Oct. 29, 2026, Wheaton shared a memorial post on Instagram with a photo of himself alongside Stewart and a shot from Star Trek: The Next Generation where the two actors are in character. The pair worked together on the series, with Stewart portraying Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Wheaton playing Wesley Crusher, a young crew member aboard the Enterprise.

Wheaton captioned the photo “Godspeed, Captain” with a broken heart emoji.
