Whoopi Goldberg (Sister Act) will not be appearing in ABC’s The View this week after contracting COVID-19 over the holidays, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her fellow co-host, Sunny Hostin (Soul of a Nation), had previously contracted the virus before Christmas.
“Whoopi unfortunately tested positive over the break, but she will hopefully be back next week,” host Joy Behar (Hall Pass) said Monday. “Since she is vaxxed and boosted, her symptoms have been very, very mild, but we are being super cautious here at The View.
The hosts all appeared remotely on Monday, while the omicron COVID variant has forced industry-wide shutdowns in recent weeks.
“I am so thankful that I was vaccinated and boosted, because I just had cold-like symptoms, but I didn’t feel great,” Hostin said.
