HBO has revealed a new poster for their second season of Westworld one month before the new season airs (April 22). The image features a mechanical vulture in a desert standing over a black hat, much like the one worn by the Man in Black (Ed Harris). It also has the feeling of death, from the red sky horizon and the drops of blood next to the hat. They even add the words “Chaos Takes Control” in red at the top of the image. Needless to say, things do not look good for the humans in the show.
Here is a tweet of the poster:

The image was part of a viral campaign. Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores) as well as others, provided clues for a few of the cast members and fans (that participated), were able to find the post on the Discover Westworld website. The showrunners are calling season two “The Doors.” Even though they have not shown the outside world, this is expected to change during this season.
This will be done through flashbacks as well as seeing other parks to help have a better understanding of the world of the show. William’s backstory will be revealed in more depth in season two. The show will also have a young version of Robert Ford and will see both Logan and William back when Delos was in its early days. This can show how the park was built and also how the main villain was shaped.
Westworld is a dark odyssey that focuses on artificial consciousness and evolution of sin. The series explores the near future and remade past where human appetites can be indulged, no matter if it is good or bad.
