‘Westworld’ Season 3 premiere Date Is Revealed

Westworld will be making its long awaited official comeback to HBO on March 15th at 9 PM, according to Deadline. The show, which puts a creative and unique spin on the classic Man against the Machine folklore, was created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton film. Nolan and Joy also serve as executive producers along with J.J Abrams, Athena Wickham, Richard J. Lewis and Ben Stephenson. The TV series focuses on the inherent consciousness that may develop inside A.I, and whether or not that consciousness means they can enjoy the same rights as human beings, their creators, do. Evan Rachel Woods will be returning as Dolores. Other returning cast members include Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harras as the Man in Black, Luke Hemsworth as Stubs, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore and Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton.

Newcomers this season are Aaron Paul, Vincent Cassel, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, Marshawn Lynch, John Gallagher Jr., Michael Ealy and Tommy Flanagan. According to Deadline, a major theme surrounding this season will be “New World,” and that Nolan is going to attempt to highlight the beauty in an even dystopian society. “Dystopia can look pretty beautiful in the world. Just because the world is corrupt inside, doesn’t mean it can’t be smothered over and pretty. We wanted to find a version of dystopia that we hadn’t seen before.” Nolan said at Comic con.

Since its debut, Westworld has been a smash hit on HBO. Westworld’s first two seasons received a combination of 42Emmy nominations. The second season managed to collect itself three Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series, an accolade that Thandie Newton earned for the series, Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series and Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single-Camera series.
