Netflix just released the newest trailer for Daredevil with only a few days before the second season debuts on the streaming service.
Check out the last trailer below:
The trailer commences with Matt Murdock’s grand trainer saying how “The city is ground zero for a war it doesn’t even know is happening.” Then there’s footage of explosions throughout the city and shots of The Punisher, Elektra, and Daredevil in action. The trailer also shows a lot of ninjas who are likely a part of Madame Gao’s army who says in a sinister-like tone “I fear that the path you’ve chosen, isn’t going to be an easy one.” Lastly, the last few seconds of the trailer shows what fans are excited to see go down: Daredevil vs. The Punisher.
Daredevil centers on Matthew Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind man with super senses who serves as a lawyer by day and fights crime by night. He also faces inner turmoil regarding whether or not it’s fine for him to take the law into his own hands.
According to Variety, Daredevil’s new showrunners (Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez) discussed their predecessors Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard. Petrie said “We were both on Season One, and we loved what Drew and Steven were doing, so continuing from what they were doing felt very natural,” Petrie went on to state “We didn’t feel any pressure, except for the internal pressure of, ‘let’s get this right and let’s have the fun we want to see.” Ramirez also shared some insight from his role as showrunner by indicating how “It’s an exercise in artful restraint, I think, in how we introduce them,” Ramirez also stated “It feels like we’re very conscious of mixing in ingredients organically, and we’re fans too, but we didn’t want it to feel like we were rushing towards things fans might want. We wanted it to be accessible to people who didn’t know the source material, and maybe didn’t know the characters before.”
In addition to new cast members Elodie Yung (Elektra Natchios), Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle AKA Punisher), and Stephen Rider (Blake Tower), we’ll also see returning cast members Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Franklin “Foggy” Nelson), and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple).
Marvel’s Daredevil will eventually tie into the Jessica Jones series and the upcoming Luke Cage series on Netflix.
The second season of Daredevil will premiere on Netflix this Friday, March 18th.
