The WandaVision creator and head writer Jac Schaeffer has inked a three-year deal with Disney-owned platforms Marvel and 20th Television, according to The Hollywood Reporter. WandaVision served as Marvel’s first TV series connecting to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Paul Bettany (Legion).
The critically-acclaimed Disney+ series, written and created by Schaeffer, is already in the conversation for the limited series category at the Emmys. Schaeffer began her career in 2009 as a writer and director on feature film Timer, and later penned the screenplay for Disney’s 2017 short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and 2019’s The Hustle.
Meanwhile, when asked about creating a second season of arguably one of the most popular and well-received shows of the year, Schaeffer was conflicted, “It was always designed to feel like a run of a comic. In that way it feels very complete. It’s an emotional completion that I stand by and feel great about,” she said. “The conclusion of the show feels right for the story we’re telling,” via The Hollywood Reporter. Under her new deal with Disney-owned platforms, Schaeffer will develop TV projects for both Marvel and 20th Television.
