According to Comicbook, the new Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again will break a Marvel Record. At the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige (Loki, What If…?) confirmed that the show’s first season will have 18 episodes, doubling the run of any of the previous series Marvel has made. This is when actor Vincent D’Onofrio (Godfather of Harlem, The Kid), said that viewers will be shocked by how in-depth the series will get with its characters.
According to Comicbook, D’Onofrio made an appearance at Salt Lake City FanX and told the fans gathered there that during the next series they are not going to be able to think about anything else but the next episode. When the audience asked about what they might see in Born Again, D’Onofrio answered that he and his costar Charlie Cox (Kin, Stardust) will be able to flesh out their characters.
As to who is going to be a part of the cast of Daredevil: Born Again, only Cox and D’Onofrio have been confirmed to be reprising their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin, respectively. There hasn’t been any news regarding the other characters that appeared in the original Daredevil show on Netflix.
The original Daredevil show starred Cox as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll (Deborah, True Blood) as Karen Page, Elden Henson (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Jobs) as Foggy Nelson, Ayelet Zurer (Moonhaven, Losing Alice) as Vanessa Marianna, and Rosario Dawson (The Book of Boba Fett, Dopesick) as Claire Temple. Other recurring characters that might show up in Born Again include Elektra played by Elodie Yung (The Cleaning Lady, Secret Society of Second Born Royals), and fan-favorite Frank Castle aka the Punisher played by Jon Bernthal (American Gigolo, The Bear).
Daredevil follows Matt Murdock a lawyer by day, and vigilante by night. With the help of his friends Karen and Foggy, he defends Hell’s Kitchen both in the courts and in the streets. During his time as a vigilante, Matt has attempted to take down an organized crime web that has the citizens of Hell’s Kitchen fearing for their lives. In his attempt to take down this web, he discovers the man running it and his biggest enemy, Kingpin.
The new series Daredevil: Born Again is set to premiere in Spring 2024 on Disney+. The original Daredevil show and the crossover series The Defenders are available to stream on Disney+.
