Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black) is just what the doctor ordered in the first trailer for the HBO series In Treatment. After ten years of being off the air, the fourth season will debut on HBO Sunday, May 23, as reported by Indiewire.
In Treatment originally ran on HBO for three seasons from 2008-2010 with a total of 106 episodes. The series starred Gabriel Bryne (Hereditary) as Dr. Paul Weston, a psychologist who worked with hundreds of patients over the course of the series run. Now, Aduba is taking over his role as Dr. Brooke Taylor, an acclaimed therapist who treats people from all walks of life as they step into her office.
Packed with patients played by various notable actors, the fourth season will be a whopping 24-episode long run airing on both Sunday and Monday nights for two half-hour long episodes. The series has a long list of actors who will be portraying Brooke’s numerous patients, including Anthony Ramos (A Star is Born) as a troubled home health aide who works for a rich family and Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets) as a youth in revolt. John Benjamin Hickey (The Inheritance), Liza Colón-Zayas (The Purge: Election Year), and Joel Kinnaman (The Killing, Altered Carbon) also star.
In anticipation of the new series debut in just a little over a month, Aduba gave fans something to tide themselves over with on Twitter Sunday. She shared a photo of her office from the show, a spacious and stylish room filled with comfortable looking chairs and a great view of the sunset. This role is a complete 180 from Aduba’s previous starring role on television in the Netflix Original series Orange is the New Black, which ran from 2013 to 2019. For her role as inmate Suzanne Warren, aka “Crazy Eyes,” she won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014 and the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2015. She then won the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series Emmy for her portrayal as Shirley Chisholm in the FX on Hulu series Mrs. America.
