Suits will be returning for another season.
Suits has only aired three episodes of season six, and today Deadline reports that already USA has renewed the series for a seventh season. The pickup for the seventh season of Suits is significant because it will be the fifth scripted series on USA to make it to the 100 episode milestone. Previous USA scripted shows to accomplish this include Monk, Psych, Royal Pains, and Burn Notice.
Suits first premiered on USA in 2011 and is set at a fictional law firm in New York City. The premise of the show follows Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) who is a talented law associate hiding the teeny tiny fact that he didn’t actually go to law school. Ross is an associate for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) who is complicit in hiding Ross’s secret.
The current season is focusing on Ross as he deals with the reality of prison and how it will affect his relationship with his fiancee Rachel (Meghan Markle) and the future of Pearson Specter Litt.
Over the years, Suits has been nominated for several awards including TV Guide’s Best Drama in 2014 and the 2014 People’s Choice Award. Additionally, both Gina Torres and Patrick J. Adams have been nominated for awards celebrating their individual roles.
Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty and Rick Hoffman also star in Suits. Aaron Korsh created the series and serves as executive producer alongside Doug Liman, David Bartis, Daniel Arkin and Rick Muirragui.
Season six of Suits is currently airing on Wednesday nights on USA.
