According to Deadline, seven new cast members have joined the Netflix series, Untamed, including Myra Molloy (Girls Like Girls, He’s All That), Matthew Keoni Sato (Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.), Robbie Magasiva (Rescue: Hi-Surf, Wentworth), Branscombe Richmond (Wrecking Crew, Chief of War), Moronai Kanekoa (Rescue HI Surf), Joe Tippett (Monarch, The Morning Show), and Luciane Buchanan (Chief of War, The Night Agent).
According to Deadline Untamed is a mystery thriller from the minds of Mark L. Smith (American Primeval, Vacancy 2: The First Cut) and Elle Smith (Estranged, Wer) that centers around Kyle Turner, played by Eric Bana (The Dry, The Time Traveler’s Wife), who is a secret agent that works for the National Park Service. As he enforces the laws of the wilderness, he must solve a scornful death that collides with his own dark past.
Deadline states that the second season takes place in Hawaii and dives into a mysterious death that happens in Hawaii National Park, where the landscape becomes unlivable. The first season is reported to take place in British Colombia, in Yosemite. Both seasons will have six, forty-five minutes episodes, and the second season will start recording in spring.
According to Deadline, Molloy plays Addy Hale, a member of the Hale Ranch family. As the youngest, Addy possesses a wild attitude that differs from her family’s traditional values. Sato will play Kaden Burkart, the son of Ray who works for the family business. Magasiva plays Lt. Ochi, and Richmond is Ikua Hale, the owner of Hale Ranch. The longtime matriarch does not trust outsiders. Kanekoa is Ti Hale, a wrangler for the Hale family and Addy’s father. Tippett is Casper Kane, a nomadic lone wolf who lives off the land. And Buchanan plays Ku’ulei Pana, a detective with Hawaii PD.
Untamed‘s producers as Mark L. Television; Todd Black (The Great Debaters, Antwone Fisher) and Tony Shaw (Zealandia, Krampus) in place for Escape Artists Entertainment; Steve Lee Jones (You Don’t Know Jack, Chief of Station) for Bee Holder Productions; and Cliff Roberts (The Dog Stars, Sleeping Dogs) for Syndicate Entertainment.
