According to TV Series Finale, Uma Thurman will recur as Lenny Cohen in My So Called Wife. The scripted TV series is coming to Bravo next year. My So Called Wife (working title) stars Inbar Lavi as Maddie, whom the network describes as “a persona shifting con-artist who is as beautiful as she is dangerous, which makes her unsuspecting victims even more tormented when they realize they have been used and robbed of everything… including their hearts.”
The cast of the show includes Rob Heaps, Parker Young, and Stephen Bishop. The network also talked about Thurman’s character by saying “When the reclusive ring-leader of a group of con artists needs to keep his employees in line, eliminate an enemy, or whip up a world class omelette, there is only one person for the job – the lethal, articulate and mysterious Lenny Cohen.” Bravo tailored the the role for the actress who is well-known for her kickass portrayal of “The Bride” in the Kill Bill films.
Adam Brooks, the executive producer of the series stated “Uma and I have been friends for a very long time. I’m thrilled that after many tries we’ll finally get to work together. Paul Adelstein and I wrote the role of Lenny Cohen specifically for her, and we are so excited to see how Uma’s iconic and very special talents will bring to life this unique and provocative character.”
The dark comedy show was originally announced back in March and is Bravo’s first scripted greenlight produced through the new NBC Universal Entertainment unit. My So Called Wife follows Maddie (Lavi), a master-of-disguise-con-artist who captivates men and women by making them fall in love with her. She then marries them and disappears with all their money and personal information to use against them so that they can’t go to the police. However, things get complicated with her latest victims, Ezra (Heaps) and Richard (Young). These two track her down as she sets her eyes on her next mark, Patrick (Bishop). Production for the series began in August and is slated for a 2017 premiere.
