The BET series has completed its second season at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta according to Deadline. The production continued since August 4th despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Tyler Perry’s (Meet the Browns) drama series, The Oval, follows the story of an interracial family becoming the White House’s newest residents. The series highlights the lies, cheating, and corruption that surfaces within the White House.
The filming for the drama series finalized two days ahead of planned schedule even with a one-day break midway through the season according to Deadline. Season 2 of The Oval will only contain 22 episodes in total.
Throughout the filming process, actors and crew members were consistently tested with no positive results.
According to Perry’s team, the production followed a 30-page document sent by Perry in May with COVID-19 guidelines in maintaining and practicing health safety according to Deadline.
Perry also had another drama series, Sistas, filmed in the Tyler Perry Studios during this critical pandemic time. Day-by-day COVID-19 protocols were placed on actors and crew members. This drama series also finished ahead of schedule, before the production of The Oval.
Currently, Season 2 of The Oval has no set release date.
