For three seasons, Abbott Elementary fans have watched the will-they-won’t-they relationship between Quinta Brunson’s (A Black Lady Sketch Show, Quinta VS Everything) Janine Teagues and Tyler James Williams’ (Let It Shine, Everybody Hates Chris) Gregory Eddie grow and evolve. Spoilers ahead, but in the show’s season three finale, the two characters took their relationship to the next level with a kiss, leaving fans speculating whether or not the two are officially a couple. With the season four premiere fast approaching, Williams teased to The Hollywood Reporter that fans won’t have to wait long to get a definitive answer.
“You’re definitely gonna get an answer about what’s going on with them. What is this now? That’s one thing I can promise. You’ll know in the first episode,” Williams said to The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s for sure. We decided let’s give this an actual, not necessarily a punctuation mark because it never really is that, but at least a concert answer. You’ll get that for sure.”
When asked what his reaction was when he found out about Janine and Gregory’s kiss in the season three finale, Williams said it was about time.
“At some point, when you’re living in the skin of the character, you begin to feel the anxiety build as well,” he said to The Hollywood Reporter. “So, it was really nice to be able to go, ‘OK, we can just pop the cork off this, and see what happens.’”
