Twisted, which began its freshman season in early June, has been given an expanded episode order. The additional ten episodes will begin airing in January 2014, according to E! Online.
The murder-mystery series chronicles the investigation into the suspicious death of a high school student in Green Grove, New York. The events of the show take place immediately following the return of convicted murderer Danny Desai to the small town, complicating both the investigation and Danny’s attempts to start over.
The show’s ratings have not been quite as high as those of ABC Family’s other new summer series, The Fosters, but Twisted has nonetheless performed well and garnered a dedicated fan base. Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Kate Juergens has described both shows as “strong, must-see, must-tweet series.” ABC Family President Michael Riley has echoed her enthusiasm, stating that the network is “very proud” of their original series.
Four episodes remain in Twisted’s summer season, which airs Tuesdays at 9 PM on ABC Family.
