The cult classic speared by David Lynch and Mark Frost is returning for a second series on Showtime, THR reports.
Twin Peaks followed an investigation into the murder of Laura Palmer, the homecoming queen living a double life. As the show went on, every character living in Twin Peaks seemed to live a double life despite the quaint and humble veneer of American small-town life. With no strict adherence to any one genre, Twin Peaks mastered the “quirky but…” mystique that contemporary television shows often fail to reproduce.
The show will return on Showtime in 2016, with production beginning in 2015. Casting news has yet to appear, but given the strength of the first two seasons, Twin Peak‘s two-decades late third season has a lot to live up to.
