Twentieth Century Fox Signs ‘Friends’ EP Scott Silveri to Multi-Year Deal

Comedy writer Scott Silveri moves from Universal Television with a three-year overall deal.

The writer/producer who has worked on Friends and spin-off Joey and Go On (from Matthew Perry) has signed a three-year deal with 20th Century Fox Television as noted by The Hollywood Reporter.

The deal says that Silveri will develop series projects for the studio and will supervise other writers.”We are huge‎ fans of Scott’s, going all the way back to the work he did on Friends. I loved the pilot for Go On — it was incredibly bold, distinctive and, of course, really funny,” said Dana Walden, the chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox.  “Scott is very talented and incredibly entertaining. If the meetings trying to get him to move to TCFTV are any indication, we are going to have a fantastic time working with him.”

The writer joins showrunners like Glee‘sRyan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, Modern Family‘s Steve Levitan and Chris Lloyd as well as Matt Nix and Kevin Hench (Cristela). Silvetri is repped by WME and Rohner Walerstein.
