TV Land Renews ‘Younger’ for a Fourth Season and Sets Season Three Premiere Date

Rejoice, Younger fans! According to Entertainment Weekly, TV Land has renewed the show for a fourth season on the same day that filming for the third season wrapped. The network also announced the season three premiere date, which will be Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. on TV Land.

To celebrate the renewal news and the last day filming the third season, the show’s Twitter page posted a cast selfie.

Younger stars Sutton Foster as Liza Miller, a 40-year-old divorced mother who decides to follow her dreams from when she was younger and goes to work at a publishing house to get money since her ex-husband has gambling debts and her daughter is studying abroad in India. She starts off on the bottom of the totem pole at the publishing house until she meets Josh (Nico Tortorella), who assumes they’re the same age. With the help of her friend, Maggie (Debi Mazar), she gets a makeover to help her appear 26. She ultimately becomes an assistant to Diana Tout (Miriam Shor) and she befriends a co-worker, Kelsey (Hilary Duff), along the way.

The upcoming season of the show is set to revolve around Liza choosing between her two boyfriends and Kelsey dealing with the death of her fiance.

Foster is known for her Broadway credits, including her Tony award winning performance as Millie from Thoroughly Modern Millie. She also won a Tony in 2011 for her role as Reno in Anything Goes. She was also in Shrek the Musical and Violet. TV wise, she was in Amy Sheman-Palladino’s Freeform show Bunheads and she will make an appearance in the upcoming Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls, reuniting her with Sherman-Palladino and Kelly Bishop, who played her mother-in-law on Bunheads.

Duff is known for her Disney Channel roles, including Lizzie McGuire and Cadet Kelly. Over the years, she’s taken on more mature roles, including guest starring in an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, where she played a mother whose daughter died under seemingly mysterious circumstances (the episode was a ripped from the headlines story based off of Casey Anthony). She’s also guest starred on Gossip Girl, Community and Two and a Half Men.

Younger is executive produced by Darren Star, who’s known for his work creating and writing HBO’s Sex and the City. He also created Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place. He also worked on the reboots of both shows that aired on The CW.

Younger returns to TV Land on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. for its third season.
