Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, the revival of its predecessor series Wynonna Earp, will be released on Sept. 13 on Tubi. In an interview with EW via The Wrap, the series creator Emily Andras (Lost Girl, Instant Star) teased that fans can expect deep emotional reactions to the revival, and it will not disappoint, Comicbook.com exclusively reports.
“The heart, the laugh-out-loud wit and action-packed sequences that were always a part of the series are still in the special,” Andras explained via Comicbook.com. “This cast has not missed a step. It’ll make you cry; it’ll make you laugh. It might make you throw up a little bit. It is Earping at the Earpiest it’s ever been.”
According to Comicbook.com, Melanie Scrofano (The End of Sex, The Silencing), lead star of Wynonna Earp, teased what’s going to happen in the revival, which will be set 18 months after the series finale, where her character Wynonna, the demon hunter, has to fight against the strongest villain she ever faced in the series.
“For Wynonna, it’s the scariest villain to date,” Scrofano explained via Comicbook.com. “This taps into where Wynonna is at this phase in her life and it’s probably the most scared she’s ever been.”
According to Comicbook.com, Wynonna Earp: Vengeance will have the original cast members return in the revival, including Scrofano, who portrays Wynonna Earp, Tim Rozon (SurrealEstate, Instant Star), who portrays Doc Holliday, Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Season of Love, The Carmilla Movie), who portrays Waverly Earp and Katherine Barrell (Everything Christmas, Good Witch), who portrays Nicole Haught. The series is executive produced, created and written by Andras. The director of the series is Paolo Barzman (Ride, Killjoys), who also directed the entire series of Wynonna Earp.
