‘True Blood’ Ratings for Final Season Premiere

True Blood garnered an audience of 5.8 million viewers for its season premiere of the final season.

According to Deadline, the premiere was up from the previous season premiere of 5.8 million viewers. The premiere was down about 500,000 from the sixth season premiere which had 4 million viewers for 9 PM. The previous season grossed around 10.7 million viewers. The final season was announced last September.

True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO,” Michael Lombardo President of Programming for HBO said in September. “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”

Alan Ball created True Blood and it was inspired by Charlaine Harris’s novel series. The series was a staple for HBO until Game of Thrones eclipsed the series.
