Travis Kelce Cast In Ryan Murphy’s Latest Project ‘Grotesquerie’

Travis Kelce is making his way into Hollywood. According to Deadline, the Kansas City Chiefs football player is now officially part of the cast of the new Ryan Murphy (Glee, American Horror Story) series Grotesquerie. While the show is allegedly in the starting stages of production, there is very little knowledge on the project’s status to the public.

The NFL star, and latest Taylor Swift (The Lorax, The Eras Tour Movie) sweetheart, will be playing opposite Niecy Nash-Betts (The Rookie: Feds, Claws), Courtney B. Vance (Height 88, Ben is Back) and Lesley Manville (In Plain Sight, Clue). According to Deadline, there has been no other known casting announcement other than Nash-Betts, Vance, and Manville. While there is also little detail surrounding any production schedule, Grotesquerie is scheduled to premiere sometime in the fall.

Since Kelce’s popular hosting gig on Saturday Night Live and high-profile relationship, he has been in quite a high demand. Even though he is known best as the starting tight end for the Chiefs and brought home a Super Bowl this past year, Kelce has been hinting that he wants to branch into entertainment and Hollywood.

Other than SNL, the football player hosts Amazon’s Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity and hosts the podcast New Height, which is a co-hosting gig he has alongside his brother Jason Kelce, who recently retired from playing on the Philadelphia Eagles.

As per usual with Murphy projects, details are far and few between. But this past winter, a teaser trailer was posted by Murphy on Instagram. The teaser was essentially a blank screen with the starring actors’ names being listed off. The audio had the voice of Nash-Betts’ character talking with a distorted voice as if she had left a message on an answering machine. She says, “I don’t know when it started, I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s different now. There’s been a shift, like something’s opening up in the world — a kind of hole that descends into a nothingness…”
