Apple TV+ is releasing the new show Danny Pudi Strange Planet, led by voice actors (Somebody That I Used To Know) and Hannah Einbinder (Hacks), which offers an eccentric look at ordinary life. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series created by Dan Harmon, co-creator of the hit show Rick and Morty, is said to release on November 9, 2023. The show contains blue people, and the story derives from the webcomics of none other than Nathan Pyle (Strange Planet: The Sneaking, Hiding, Vibrating Creature).
In the new teaser, viewers can see a humanoid speak to another, saying, “The bad moments will pass. Even the good moments will pass. That’s what our existence is all about.” The series is also set to be produced and written by Amalia Levari (Centaurworld). Other actors in this series will be Tunde Adebimpe (Rachel Getting Married), Lori Tan Chinn (Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens), and Danny Pudi (Somebody I Used to Know).
The executive prodcing team will include Lauren Pomerantz (The Ellen DeGeneres Show), Corey Campodonico (Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II), Alex Bulkley (Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III), Steve Levy (NHL on ESPN), and Taylor Alexy Pyle. The team will consist of members from both ShadowMachine and Apple Studios.
The series will be released on August 9, starting off with the first three episodes of the series. From that point, the rest of the seven episodes in the show will be released one by one every Wednesday. The show’s finale is set to be on September 27th.
The show Strange Planet marks the fourth animation series for Harmon, along with his successful show Rick and Morty, another upcoming series called Krapopolis and Little Demon which was ordered by FXX just recently. Levari has been recognized for an Emmy back in 2015 for their writing contribution on Over the Garden Wall from Comedy Central. Watch the trailer down below and get ready for Strange Planet.
