Hulu has released a trailer for their upcoming television adaption of the beloved film, Four Weddings and a Funeral. The Hulu limited series is written by Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project) and Matt Warburton (The Simpsons, Champions).
Four Weddings and a Funeral centers on a young communications director named Maya who receives an invitation to a wedding in the midst of working on a senatorial campaign. The wedding is for one of Maya’s college friends. Maya leaves her professional and personal life in New York in order to travel to the wedding in London. This gives her the chance to reconnect with old friends. However, the trip does not go smoothly and Maya finds herself reevaluating her life choices. In her journey there will be four weddings and a funeral.

Maya is played by Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones, Maze Runner: The Death Cure). Other cast members include Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey), Guz Khan (Turn Up Charlie), Sophia La Porta (Been So Long), Harish Patel (Run, Fat Boy, Run), Nikesh Patel (London Has Fallen), John Reynolds (Search Party), Rebecca Rittenhouse (Blood & Oil) and Brandon Mychal Smith (You’re the Worst).
Kaling and Warburton will executive produce the series in addition to writing it. The pair will produce the series alongside Tracey Wigfield (30 Rock), Richard Curtis (Love Actually), Jonathan Prince (American Soul), Howard Klein (The Office), Charlie Grandy (The Mindy Project), Tristram Shapeero (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Charles McDougall (House of Cards). MGM Television serves as the leading studio producer. Universal Television is the other studio producing Four Weddings and a Funeral.
The romantic comedy will begin airing on Hulu on July 31st. The first four episodes will be available to stream on the premiere date. Following the premiere, one episode will be released per week. There will be a total of twelve episodes.
