Here is the new trailer for the CBS All Access show Picard.
Picard is a web TV series about Jean-Luc Picard, the captain of the star fleet USS Enterprise from Star Trek The Next Generation. Picard will take place 20 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis. Most of the plot is being kept under wraps. It will be the eight series in the Star Trek franchise. Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman said that he wanted to make the series “a more psychological show, a character study about this man in his emeritus years”
The series was first teased at SDCC last summer. The showrunners also announced that Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis will appear in the new series, as Data, William Riker and Deanna Troi.
Star Trek: The Next Generation was a sequel to the original Star Trek Series, TNG was on television for 7 seasons and won 19 Emmy awards, it ended in 2002.The show follows the adventures of a Star fleet starship, the USS Enterprise D and its exploration of the Milky Way galaxy. It was created by Gene Roddenberry who created The original Star Trek Series.
Patrick Stewart will be playing his role as Picard from Star Trek The Next Generation. Patrick has been an actor for over sixty years. He began acting in the Royal Shakespeare Company and then began acting on television as Captain Jean Luc Picard in Star Trek TNG and in its following films Star Trek Generations, Star Trek First Contact, Star Trek Insurrection, and Star Trek Nemesis. He also starred as Charles Xavier in the X-Men films and in 1996 was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II. When asked about the new Picard show, Stewart said that the new show’s producers would “endeavour to bring a fresh, unexpected and pertinent story to life once more.”
The first season of Picard will be streaming on CBS all access in January 2020 and there will be ten episodes.
