Tom Holland Will Star in the Apple Anthology Series ‘The Crowded Room’

Tom Holland (Cherry) will star in the first season of the Apple anthology series The Crowded Room. The series comes from Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind) and will consist of ten episodes, via The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on a true story, Holland will tackle the role of Billy Milligan, the first man in history to be acquitted of a crime because of multiple personality disorder, now known as dissociative identity disorder. The first season is based upon the biography The Minds of Billy Milligan, written by Daniel Keyes (Flowers for Algernon).

The anthology series will explore various inspirational true stories of people struggling and learning to live with mental illness. Goldsman will write and executive produce the ten-part first season. Holland will also serve as an executive producer alongside Arnon Milchan (The Revenant), Yariv Milchan (Ad Astra), Michael Schaefer (The Martian), and Alexandra Milchan (The Silence). New Regency will produce.

Goldsman is an Academy Award winner, who won the prize for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing the 2001 film A Beautiful Mind. He created the CBS All Access television series Star Trek: Picard and the upcoming Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Holland most recently starred in the Apple original film Cherry, playing a war veteran suffering from PTSD. He was also featured in the 2020 Netflix crime thriller The Devil All the Time. Next on the horizon is his return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will premiere on December 17, 2021.
