Tom Hardy’s ‘Taboo’ Announced for January FX Premiere

Tom Hardy’s old-fashioned Taboo has been buzzed about for quite some time now. Earlier today, Variety announced its long-awaited premiere date: Hardy fans better get ready, because Taboo is coming to FX on January 10.

Taboo follows the story of James Keziah Delaney’s (Hardy) return to London from Africa. The show is set in the year 1814, so the travel between continents presents Delaney with death-defying implications. Since Delaney has been absent from his London hometown for so long, he is presumed dead by his peers, which threatens his inheritance of his father’s shipping empire once Delaney returns. Now the target of an unknown number of enemies, Delaney must persevere to save both his father’s company and himself.

Tom Hardy worked extensively on this project, as he helped create the series alongside Steven Knight and his own father Chips Hardy. Not only that, but he’s listed as executive producer, along with Ridley Scott and Kate Crowe, in addition to his starring role. Hardy and Knight are rekindling their working relationship since their time together on Netflix’s Peaky Blinders and Locke.

The show is releasing eight episodes starting on January 10. Episodes 1-4 are directed by Kristoffer Nyholm and episodes 5-8 are directed by Anders Engström.
