On October 27, 2022, Prime Video released the official trailer for season three of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and key art for this exceedingly anticipated reappearance. The series will debut its third season exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, according to an Amazon Prime Video press release in Culver City, California.
Jack Ryan is based on the popular book series created by author Tom Clancy (The Sum of All Fears, Rainbow Six).
In this upcoming third season of this action-thriller series, Jack Ryan is working as a CIA case officer in Rome when he is forewarned that the Sokol Project, a classified strategy to reconstruct the Soviet Empire, is being revived more than half a century after it was believed to have been shut down. Ryan embarks upon an assignment to authenticate the intelligence, but unfortunately, things go askew hastily, and he is wrongly implicated in a grander scheme, according to Amazon Studios. Ryan is forced to run from his government with the hopes to uncover the crooked coalition before it’s too late after being accused of treason with a Red Notice out for his arrest. Ryan has to race against the clock to impede the cascade of undermining tensions from heading to global calamity.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan stars John Krasinski (The Office, A Quiet Place) as Jack Ryan along with Michael Kelly (Man of Steel, Now You See Me) and Wendell Pierce (The Wire, Horrible Bosses) repeating their roles as former CIA Officer Mike November and CIA Officer James Greer, respectively. In this upcoming series joining the cast are Betty Gabriel (Get Out, The Purge: Election Year) as CIA Rome Station Chief Elizabeth Wright and Nina Hoss (Phoenix, Barbara) as Czech President Alena Kovac.
According to Deadline, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will be coming to an end after four seasons, completing Krasinski’s run as the iconic literary persona. There was also a hint at Michael Peña (American Hustle, Crash) and his mystery character in season four being Ding Chavez who is a popular character in the literary universe of Jack Ryan. There was also discourse around Amazon Studios giving Peña’s character his own spinoff series following the Jack Ryan demise. Peña’s character is to be introduced to the series in the final episode of season three, according to ComicBook.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will premiere its third season on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, exclusively on Prime Video.
