Frank Darabont’s new show opens to 2.3 million total viewers for TNT.
The new drama created by Frank Darabont, the former Walking Dead showrunner, premiered Wednesday to a modest number of viewers. This was not a really strong showing, compared with the recent premiere of Falling Skies (5.9 million total viewers) or Dallas which premiere last year with 6.8 million total viewers.
In key demos, Mob City averaged a 0.6 rating (801,000 viewers) in adults 18-49 and a 0.7 rating (875,000 viewers) in adults 25-54 as reported by Variety. Still, the numbers might grow in the next days because some viewers will watch it via online streaming or DVR.
As a comparison, Major Crimes, one of the top shows of TNT, has on Monday an average of 4.21 million viewers including 850,000 adults 18-49 (0.7 rating) and 1.14 million adults 25-54 (0.9).
