Fans of The Book of Boba Fett are meeting with some big surprises for the newest episode. The fifth episode, titled The Return of the Mandalorian, teased the return of The Mandalorian, also known as Din Djarin, via Comicbook. Mandalorian’s last appearance was in the Season 2 finale of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, which came to an end in December of 2020.
Mando wasn’t the only character that returned in this episode. Peli Motto and The Armorer also made cameos this time. Amy Sedaris (At Home With Amy Sedaris) and Emily Swallow (The SEAL Team) play the two roles respectively. According to Comicbook, another connection this episode has to Disney+’s first Star Wars series is that Bryce Dallas Howard directed it. Known for her performance from Jurassic World, Howard also directed Chapter 4: Sanctuary and Chapter 11: The Heiress of The Mandalorian.
The episode features the story of Mando since the last time he appeared in his series. After Din Djarin tracks and kills a bounty, he delivers the bounty’s head for directions to a Mandalorian hideout. He then meets with a few other characters. After fixing a starship and testing a flight, Djarin returns to the station to meet Fennec Shand who asks Djarin to assist Boba Fett in the upcoming war. Djarin agrees, but only after he pays a visit to Grogu.
The Disney+ series is likely going to offer the audience many more interactions between Mando and Boba Fett in the upcoming episodes. According to Comicbook, the mergence of the two characters doesn’t necessarily mean that fans there won’t be any more full-scale episodes featuring The Mandalorian with no Boba Fett going forward. So far, Disney+ hasn’t given any clear message regarding this issue. However, fans are now promised many exciting adventures of the two, so it won’t be long for them to see Mando again.

Pedro Pascal (The Great Wall, Narcos), the actor of The Mandalorian, retweeted his character’s return with the caption “wizard”. Katee Sackhoff (Another Life), Pascal’s co-star who plays the role of Bo-Katan Kryze, praised Pascal. “Pedro just has the ability with his voice, because largely you take away an actor’s face and what do we have?”
She also told Comic: ” If he were to show up and not give you a performance inside the helmet, you’d be like, ‘Well, that didn’t work.’ Because when he is there, it changes the performances around him exponentially because he knows the character so well. He’s just such a good actor.”
