According to Comic Book, The Amazing World Of Gumball has been renewed with a brand new season dropping at the end of July on Hulu. The series has been dormant for 7 years, and now Cartoon Network has released a first look at the intro to drum up anticipation. The new series features the same characters and picks up where the show left off, yet its new title is The Wonderfully Weird World Of Gumball.
Comic Book reports that The Wonderfully Weird World Of Gumball will premiere on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ first in the US. Fans in other countries will have to wait to watch the show when it debuts on the Cartoon Network later this year on October 6th. They have also reported that Ben Bocquelet (Welcome to Elmore, The Gumball Chronicles) will be returning as the series creator and executive producer. They also note that the show will be a full continuation, alluding that the cliff hanger the previous series left off on may be addressed.
@cartoonnetwork posted the clip of the new intro for the series on X. The post is accompanied by the text “Here you lucky ducks – NEW Gumball Series Opening!”

Per Comic Book, the plot of the new series is as follows: “Welcome back to Elmore, where the laws of reality are a joke, and family life is anything but ordinary. Whether he’s battling an evil fast-food empire, facing off against a sentient AI in love with his mom, or trying to stop Banana Joe from wearing pants, Gumball Watterson drags his brother Darwin, sister Anais, and the rest of the town of Elmore along for the ride. With even wilder stories, bigger twists, and surreal humor, the show is so amazing that they had to rename it!”
