Netflix has revealed new additions to the cast of The Witcher for its upcoming third season, according to Variety. Robbie Amell (The DUFF), Meng’er Zhang (Shang Chi), Hugh Skinner (Falling for Figaro) and Christelle Elwin (Bloods).
The Witcher follows Henry Cavill (Superman) as Geralt of Rivia – a monster hunter known as a “witcher.” Amell was cast as Galatin, an elven fighter and leader of an army of guerrilla Scoia’tael. Zhang will play the role of Milva, a human huntress who was adopted from the dryads of Brokilon Forest. Skinner was cast as royal playboy Prince Radovid, while Elqin will play Mistle, a member of a gang called The Rats, who steal from the rich for themselves.
While The Witcher was renewed for a third season last fall, production on the series’ new season just began earlier this month. However, the series does have multiple spinoff series in development, including The Witcher: Blood Origin and a kid-friendly Witcher series.
The upcoming series will follow Geralt as he “takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever,” per Variety.
The third season of The Witcher is currently being filmed, and no additional details regarding a release date have been revealed yet.
