The WB’s ‘Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham and Yanic Truesdale Reveal Reunion In A New Selfie

Per Deadline, Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham (Parenthood, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) and previous co-star Yanic Truesdale (God’s Favorite Idiot, Movie Fallen Angels Murder Club: Heroes and Felons) posted a selfie together on Sunday. Graham played Lorelai Gilmore, and Truesdale portrayed Michel Gerard on The WB/CW show from 2000 to 2007. The reunion occurred more than 25 years after the series ended.

Truesdale wrote under his caption for his Instagram post, “We don’t get to see each other often enough @laurengraham but when we do it’s always a treat. Hoping you get to see your loved ones this week. Happy holidays.” The two are smiling in the photograph with a movie and a Christmas tree in the background.

Deadline summarizes that Gilmore Girls was created by Amy Sherman-Palladio (Bunheads, The Marvelous Mrs. Mazel), the showrunner and executive producer for the first six seasons. The show focuses on Lorelai and her relationship with her daughter Rory, played by Alexis Bledel (The Sisterhood and the Traveling Pants, The Handmaid’s Tale). It takes place in the small fictional town of Stars Hollows, Connecticut. Michel and Lorelai were coworkers at the Independence Inn for the first three seasons before the opening of The Dragonfly Inn in season four. Michel was usually seen rolling his eyes and being snarky toward his bubbly coworker and the Inn chef, Sookie St. James, portrayed by Melissa McCarthy (BridesmaidsThe Little Mermaid). However, towards the end of the series, he becomes more warm towards the two, and over the years, fans have loved the trio working together.

In 2016, the Gilmore Girls spinoff series Gilmore Girls: A Year In A Life debuted on Netflix. The series had four episodes that were ninety minutes long, centering around the mother-daughter duo ten years later. Lorelai has had a long relationship with Luke Danes, portrayed by Scott Patterson (Little Big League, Her Best Move), who appeared together in a Walmart commercial after the sequel TV series ended.
