After two months after the finale of Netflix’s popular paranormal series, Stranger Things has concluded, but in return one actor give their own interpretation. Reported by Screenrant, the actor in question is none other than Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, The Dark Knight Return), who played Dr. Brenner in the series goes on to give a short response across his social media platform. It would appear that not only were some of fans were dissatisfied with ending, but also members of the show.
Screenrant states, the last time fans saw Dr. Brenner was in the eighth episode of season four, where he was wounded and attempts to escape with Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown (The Electric State, Damsel). Before his death, he deactivates Eleven’s electric collar, but is then shot by a sniper.
According to Screenrant, Modine goes onto give a simple answer to the question did he like the ending, in which he replies with “nope”. He doesn’t provide further details on the reason behind it, but several factors could have contributed to his statement. Some audience mixed reviews mentioned that the finale had a fast pace, numerous plot holes, and an anti-climactic ending. The final episode had received a surprising 34 thousand one star reviews and obtained a low 53% Rotten Tomato Score.
In accordance with Screenrant, there is a positive side to this as well, as the finale also garnered around 68 thousand 10-star votes and showcasing viewers that like the light hearted ending.
