As 2016 comes to a close, people are starting to look at the top shows of the year in terms of viewers and in terms of the ratings. The list looks fairly typical and many of the shows that are buzzed about are featured on the list. TV by the Numbers has the list, including the 18 to 49 rating and in total viewers. The majority of the show’s ratings are the Live + 7 day viewing in the Nielsen ratings and are for original telecasts only, meaning that repeats of episodes aren’t included in the ratings or total viewership.
The majority of the shows on both of the lists are from broadcast television, with the big cable shows that people would expect to be on the list are on the list.
