Chris Pratt lands the role of James Reece in The Thriller List, a upcoming Amazon drama The Thriller List, according to Deadline. The show centers on Reece coming home following tour with the Navy SEALs after his platoon was ambushed in a previous mission. Reece comes to realize the dangerous forces working against him, and must protect himself and his loved ones.
Based on Jack Carr’s novel under the same name, it has been picked up by Amazon Studios. Pratt bought the rights of the novel from Carr, and showed it to Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), who recently directed and executive produced What’s My Name: Muhammad Ali, a documentary for HBO. Together, Pratt and Fuqua brought The Thriller List to MRC. David DiGilio recently was executive producer and show-runner for CBS All Access’ Strange Angel, and along with Fuqua, will produce The Thriller List.
Pratt gained recognition in his co-starring role in NBC’s Parks and Recreation as Andy Dwyer. The cast of Parks and Recreation recently had a coronavirus reunion special to raise money for efforts against the virus. Chris Pratt is also well known for his roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, along with his applauded role in Avengers: Endgame, which is currently the top grossed movie of all time with $2.7 billion worldwide. This role will mark Pratt’s return to TV roles since Parks and Recreation, which ended in 2015.
