‘The Sticky’: Prime Video Drops Trailer For Margo Martindale’s Upcoming Comedy Heist Series

Prime Video has released the trailer for its upcoming comedy series, The Sticky. Fast-paced and darkly funny in tone, the series will combine “moments of culture-clash hilarity, edge-of-the-seat excitement and heartbreaking drama,” according to CNW Group.

Per Deadline, The Sticky is inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012. It will follow the esteemed Margo Martindale (The Chicken Sisters) as Ruth Landry, a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the authorities threaten to take away everything she loves. In an unlikely trio, she teams up with hot-tempered Bostonian mobster Mike Byrne, portrayed by Chris Diamantopoulos (Blood of Zeus), and mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard Remy Bouchard, portrayed by Guillaume Cyr (Bellefleur), to carry out a multi-million-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.

In addition to exhibiting the series’ crime and chaos, the trailer also offers a glimpse of Jamie Lee Curtis (The Bear), who will serve as executive producer and guest star.

The Sticky, which hails from Blumhouse Studios, will hit Prime Video on December 6, 2024. It was created by duo Brian Donovan (American Housewife) and Ed Herro (Jeff & Some Aliens), who will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Filmmaker Jonathan Levine (Nine Perfect Strangers) will direct and executive produce alongside his production partner Gillian Bohrer (Tell Me Lies).

Curtis exec produces for Comet Pictures; Josée Vallée (Transplant) and Bruno Dubé (Mark McKinney Needs a Hobby) will exec produce for Sphere Media; and Jason Blum (Choir), Chris McCumber (The Anarchists) and Jeremy Gold (Worst Roommate Ever) will exec produce for Blumhouse Television.
