On May 19, the Los Angeles Police Department arrested actor Michael Jace (The Shield) for the alleged fatal shooting of his wife, April Jace.
According to Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Jace was the only suspect in custody. He is currently booked into The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department with bail set at $1 million.
On Tuesday, May 20, the Los Angeles Police Department released a statement that said, “At this moment the motive of the murder is believed to be Domestic Violence.”
Neighbors alerted police regarding shots fired at 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue in the city of Los Angeles. April Jace was pronounced dead at the scene; at the time, there were two young children inside the home.
TMZ reported that Michael Jace called police telling them, “I shot my wife.” He remained on the line until police arrived. They also reported that the two young children were witnesses to the crime and were taken by Child Services to a family member’s home.
Jace starred as Julien Lowe in FX’s hit The Shield. He had a recurring role on Southland and appeared in CSI, NYPD, Cold Case, Forrest Gump, Boogie Nights and The Replacements.
