On Monday Bravo announced the Real Housewives of Orange County‘s return via a trailer promoting season 12 as one of the most drama-filled. The trailer confirms the return of OG of the OC Vicki Gunvalson and returning wives Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Meagan King Edmonds, Kelly Dodd and season 8’s Lydia McLoughlin along with newcomer Peggy Sulahian, Bravo’s 100th housewife in the franchise.
The trailer opens with a view of Orange County’s sandy beaches, accompanied by an undercurrent of sound clips noting last season’s most dramatic moments. As the waves crash, the softer more playful side of the ladies envelopes into volleyball matches, mud runs and shot pours.
We’re introduced by a cheery McLoughlin, saying, “I’m back!” while giving her notable body shake, followed by a celebration scene with friends and the pop of a champagne bottle. Then, introducing us to her buddy and newcomer Sulahian, who gives us a glimpse into her lavish lifestyle. Edmonds can be seen caring for her new baby with hubby Jim, expressing how difficult she didn’t realize it would be. Beador expresses concern over her weight gain due to stress brought on by Gunvalson.
While the women are seen ‘whooping-it-up’ at a bar in full 80’s rock get-up, we oversee Dodd pointing a finger at Edmonds, saying, “You should be taking care of your baby, instead of worrying about gossip!” This, followed by McLoughlin who consoles Edmonds.
In another scene, the women are jetted off to vacation in Iceland, but its not long before we see another housewife being taken away by an ambulance, followed by McLoughlin’s praying for her fellow wife in distress.
As previously reported by Radar Online, fans will also be surprised to hear two former housewives make an appearance to stir the pot. Both Gretchen Rossi who left after season 8 and Lizzie Rovsek from seasons 9 and 10 can be seen with Gunvalson asking “if Eddie is gay or not?”
Viewers will see Sulahian doesn’t make the best impression on the women and can be seen arguing with Dodd in an explosive scene. “You wanna throw a bomb, I’m gonna throw a nuke!” Dodd says, while raising a hand during dinner. “You’re a f***ing b****!” Edmonds directs toward Sulahian in another scene. The trailer’s finale scene comes to a halt with Beador nearly flipping the groups dining table in true Teresa Giudice fashion, shouting profanity at Dodd who walks away from the scene.
People previously reported that housewives veteran Heather ‘fancy-pants’ Dubrow would not be returning by choice to the series.
Season 12 of the Real Housewives of Orange County returns to Bravo on July 10th at 9 p.m. ET. Bravo is a subsidiary of NBCUniversal.
