Motivational speaker and New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hollis recently got added to the ever-growing list of celebrity names to announce upcoming shows for Quibi, the short-form mobile TV streaming service coming to your cell phone later this spring. The Rachel Hollis Show, described as “your one-stop-shop for a daily dose of motivation and joy, designed to make you laugh, make you think and frankly, to motivate the crap out of you” is currently set to run once a day, Monday through Friday and can be seen exclusively on Quibi’s Daily Essentials programming slate.
In a response to the recent collaboration, Hollis said, “I am so excited to partner with Quibi on this project that brings together all of the best parts of my work over the last decade.” She further added, “Our intention is to create something that serves our audience well and meets her where she’s at. It’s motivational without taking itself too seriously. It’s inspirational but irreverent. Its lifestyle meets real life and I hope it makes you pee your pants laughing at least once a week.”
Hollis isn’t the only one to recently join the line-up of shows coming to Quibi; the soon-to-be released platform has also announced that Former Olympic Ice Skater Adam Rippon will serve as host to a new show called This Day in Useless Celebrity History, a throwback show about “useless” celebrity moments that will take viewers on a ride down memory lane and revisit all of the celebrity train-wreck moments from the early 2000s that we remember oh, so well. Rippon promises the show will be “a witty retrospective look at pop culture.”
In a recent statement, Rippon’s said, “There are so many great moments to choose from, and I’ll be there breaking it down for Quibi’s viewers and reminding them of all the drama we’ve lived through together.” Rippon’s show is set to run Monday through Friday with a premiere date in April 2020 and each “day in history” will coincide with the actual calendar day the event took place.
Hollis will act as executive producer to her own show, along with Dave Hollis and Cameron Berkman from The Hollis Company’s 3% Chance Productions and Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, Jordan Barrow and Jared Morell from Den of Thieves. Rippon’s show is produced by Hearst Magazines’ originals division.
Quibi launches April 6, 2020.
