Netflix has ordered a ten episode straight-to-series monster drama called The Order. Dennis Heaton (Ghost Wars, Motive, and Fido), as well as, Shelley Eriksen (Flashpoint, Continuum, and Somewhere Between) co-created the drama and will also co-write the series. They will both executive produce the series along with: Chad Oakes, Michael Frisley, and David Von Ancken (Ghost Wars). According the the Hollywood Reporter, the series is described as, ” a magical and terrifying journey to uncover everyone’s true selves… and the monsters that hide within.”
The Order focuses on a college freshman, Jack Morton (Jake Manley who has played in Heroes: Reborn). He joins a fabled and secret society called The Order. This is where he becomes a part o a world filled with magic, monsters, and intrigue. As he learns and has a better understanding of the world he becomes apart of he learns about his family’s secrets and a war going on between the werewolves and the magical dark arts.
The female lead will be Sarah Grey (DC Legends of Tomorrow) as Alyssa. She is described as a smart and pretty overachiever getting her major in political science. She doubles as a member of The Order. Also, she has an attraction to Jack.
Manley and Grey will be joined by Matt Frewer (Altered Carbon), Sam Trammell (True Blood), and Max Martini (Training Day, Revenge). Nomadic Pictures will produce the series for Netflix. There is also already a connection between the two with Nomadic Pictures producing another supernatural series called Ghost Wars, which is also being executive produced by Heaton.
