According to Screenrant, the photo shows a weathered Kratos, played by Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead) and his son, Atreus, played by Callum Vinson (Oak, Coup!) quietly on the hunt and tracking their prey. The show will be heavily based on the 2018 version game of the same name, and will have the duo embarking on a treacherous journey to scatter the ashes of Atreus’ mother’s ashes across the highest peak, while dealing with gods along the way.
Stated by Screenrant, this scene is significant because it symbolizes Kratos teaching his son how to hunt and use his bow, providing him with the skills necessary to survive in any condition. Reported by Screenrant, other names that will be joining Hurst and Vinson in the series will include Alastair Duncan (Taggart, Split Second) as Mimir, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (NOS4A2, The Deep) as Thor and Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, I Am Number Four) as Lady Sif. The series will surely show key location found within the game which will include Thamur’s Corpse, the Wildwoods and River Pass. Other valuable part that will surely be involved in the series is the creatures that the son father duo will encounter such as Lindwurms, Hel-Walkers and Trolls.
As of right now, the filming for the God of War series is underway and a concrete premiere date has yet to be announced. The season ahead of it release has already received a second season order.
