The Hub Network announced that the new Transformers series are in production for 2015.
The animated series based on the famous Hasbro action figures are in production as the Transformers brand gets to its 30th anniversary, as noted by Variety.
The new action series is being produced by Hasbro Studios and Jeff Kline will be the executive producer (Transformers Prime, G.I. Joe Renegades). Even though the franchise has made its mark on the big screen with blockbuster movies, the action in the new series will take place years after the battle between Autobots and Decepticons in Transformers Prime. The animation will center on Bumblebee (voiced by Will Friedle from Boy Meets World) as he steps up to lead the new team of Autobots.
The cast also features Darren Criss (Glee), Constance Zimmer (House of Cards) and Ted McGinley (Married with Children). The series mixe action-packed adventure with lots of comedy by blending 3D characters with hand-painted environments.
Hub Network will celebrate the succes of the Transformers series with special events, which will be announced later this year.
