The New Trailer and Premiere Date for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 are Released at Comic Con

On Friday July 10, AMC’s The Walking Dead released both the new trailer for season 6 and its premiere date. Season 6 is set to premiere October 11th with a 90 minute first episode (via Rolling Stone).

AMC announced that they had renewed The Walking Dead for a sixth season on October 7, 2014. The first look at the sixth season was reported on back in early July. Season 6 picks up right where season 5 left off. With Rick in Alexandria and his reunion with his old neighbor, Morgan.

The trailer previews the tension between Morgan and Rick that grows in season 6. While Morgan vows to “stop” Rick, Rick questions Morgan,

“Do you really think you’re going to take this community from us? From Daryl? From Michonne? From Glenn? From me?”.

The trailer not only displays the fallout between Rick and Morgan, but it also shows a gun pointed to Daryl’s head. It might be the case again that in season 6, series regulars are at risk of being killed off the show. Scott M. Gimple, The Walking Dead‘s showrunner, talked about season 6 in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “We’re currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud and scary”. From the 4 minute long trailer, season 6 does look bigger, louder and scarier than ever before.

AMC debuted the first trailer for the spinoff show set it Los Angeles, The Fear of the Walking Dead, at Comic Con as well. The prequel series is set to air August 23, 2015. Also the talk show, Talking Dead, will continue to air alongside season 6 of The Walking Dead (via Variety).

Be prepared to see more tensions rise in the upcoming season of AMC’s The Walking Dead on October 11. For now, you can watch the trailer for season 6 of The Walking Dead and Fear of the Walking Dead here:
