Per a Deadline article the second episode of White Lotus has fans and audiences hooked. HBO released a statement saying that the show is doing amazing reaching ” 3.4M U.S. cross- platform viewers”. The episode which aired on Sunday night increased by 40% in viewers compared to the premiere episode says Deadline.
Overall the show has gained a mass following, having 10.2M viewers in the U.S., which is 92% more than the first episode of the second season. Deadline also says that season three is doing great as well as it is “outperforming the second episode of Season 2, boding well for the remainder of the season.”A Variety article states that the numbers come from the website Nielsen which measures the linear viewers on HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery.
According to Deadline “The White Lotus is now apparently the second largest returning original series in platform history, behind only House of the Dragon Season 2.” Deadline says that even though the second season holds the series-high same-day audience coming in at 4.1M, the third season might surpass that, and it might do it in the next couple of months. According to Variety after the first and second season took place in Hawaii and Italy at the White Lotus resorts season 3 will take place in Koh Samui, Thailand, and will follow the storylines of several of the employees and guests.
