Netflix has been teasing the November 20 release of Jessica Jones with short teasers and the latest one gives a fun look at what to expect.
The teaser titled “Nightcap,” which can be viewed below, is yet another look at Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones though we don’t get to see her face. Similar to the first teaser, which we reported on here, it doesn’t reveal much in terms of plot but it does give a close look into the kind of tone we can expect from the series.
The teaser begins with Jessica Jones trying to get a jukebox to work by slamming the side of it. It begins playing “Bad Reputation,” and Jones walks through a bar with people who have obviously just lost a fight. Presumably, Jones is the one who beat these people and she walks through them and casually kicks away a knife as she makes her way to the bar. Once there she takes a shot and the teaser ends.
Daredevil‘s Matt Murdock would shy away from unnecessary violence and would only fight with a mask. Jones doesn’t appear to care about either of those things. As we reported on here, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg previously said this about the complicated hero: “Jessica Jones is a brawler. She gets drunk, she gets pissed off, and boom, you’re down. She doesn’t wear a costume, she doesn’t have a mask. She’s just who she is.”
Based on the teasers, the show will have a grittier feel than Daredevil and Jessica Jones will be a more complex character who has a dark side. The show is premiering on Netflix on November 20.
