The Music of Bob’s Burgers

The FX series Bob’s Burgers is being nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music And Lyrics this year. The awards will be announced on July 18.

The series has been nominated for an Emmy.

One of the most enjoyable things about Bob’s Burgers is the wide array of strange and weird music. A cartoon that is Simpson-ish in plot normally has no use for extreme music, but the character Gene in the show is a young, budding musician. The better known musical numbers from the show are “The Thanksgiving Song”, “Lindapendent Woman”, and “The Harry Truman Song” by comedian John Roberts and composed by creator Loren Bouchard.

The Belchers are becoming the picture of the new all American family the same way that the Simpsons did when it was in its hay-day. Bob’s Burgers is doing things with its musical score that its neighbor rivals at FOX have yet to touch. Not just that, the music just seems to be more apart of the show than an add on.

Bob’s Burgers is building its cult following by being a show to which the people can relate. They are a working class family, a little out there and a little crazy, both of which is the average family, more so than not. To date, the show has only one nomination to its claim to fame which is Outstanding Animated Program.
