Deadline has reported that The Morning Show’s Nicole Beharie (The Morning Show, Honk For Jesus. Save Your Life) will be joining the cast of Netflix’s All Sinner’s Bleed. She will star alongside Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs Of London, Black Rabbit) and John Douglas Thomas (The Bourne Legacy, The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks) in the series adapted from the S.A. Crosby novel produced by Obama’s Higher Ground and Amblin Television.
Dìrísù has risen to recent acclaim in series such as Slow Horses and Black Rabbit. Netflix hopes the trend will continue in this upcoming thriller.
Deadline has reported that the show is written by Joe Robert Cole (All Day And A Night, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) and follows Titus Crown, played by Dìrísù, the first black sheriff of a small county in the south. Crown must track down a serial killer who is targeting the black community in the name of god. All the while, he must grapple with the recent death of his devoutly Christian mother.
Deadline has reported that Behaire will step into the role of Crown’s girlfriend and confidant. Thompson plays the role of Crown’s father. Cole will serve as showrunner and executive producer, as well as directing the pilot and writing the series. Higher Ground and Amblin Television will also executive produce the series.
Deadline has reported that Beharie is currently cast as a series regular on The Morning Show as Christian Hunter. Next on the docket for Beharie will be the crime thriller Elegance Bratton’s (The Inspection, Pier Kids) By Any Means, as well as Killing Castro from Romulus Entertainment. Killing Castro has its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Behaire has received nominations from both the Gotham and Independent Spirit Awards for her role in Miss Juneteenth. She is currently represented by UTA and Hansen Jacob Teller.
