‘The Mandalorian’ Adds Timothy Olyphant for its Second Season

For its upcoming second season, the Disney+ and Star Wars television program The Mandalorian has announced Timothy Olyphant to its cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, which debuted in the fall of 2019, followed a gunfighter in the Star Wars universe as the viewers follow his adventures during the time of the New Republic. The Mandalorian was created by Jon Favreau (Swingers, Iron Man) and stars Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) as the titular character in addition to the likes of Carl Weathers (Rocky), Werner Herzog (Fidelio), Nick Nolte (Warrior, The Prince of Tides), Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Jojo Rabbit), and Gina Carano (Deadpool) in supporting roles. 

Olyphant has been a staple in successful television series. The actor portrayed Seth Bullock on HBO’s Deadwood in the mid-2000s and Deputy Raylan Givens in Justified. For his role in the western drama Justified, Olyphant received an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Recently, Olyphant starred alongside Drew Barrymore (Fever Pitch) in the Netflix comedy Santa Clarita Diet which was canceled after its third season. Olyphant also starred in the fourth season of the FX anthology series Fargo as Dick Wickware. He has also witnessed some success on the big screen with his roles in Scream 2, The Crazies, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Currently, The Mandalorian is set to debut its second season in October on the Disney streaming service. For Star Wars fans, the first season of the series is available in its entirety on the Disney+ platform. Check out the sh0w’s first season trailer below:
