

According to a press release by Prime Video, the new season of The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power has been approved for a third season. The show is a fantasy thriller and has had major success on the screen. Prime Video says that the show is set to start filming in the spring under the new production home Shepperton Studios which is located in the U.K.
According to Prime Video, Vernon Sanders the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios issued a statement: “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power continues to captivate audiences worldwide, and we’re thrilled that a third season is underway. The creative team has an extraordinary vision of what’s to come with stories that have left us enchanted and enthralled. We look forward to continuing this epic journey, for our global customers, delving even deeper into the legendary tales that shaped Middle-earth.”
Charlotte Brändström (The Witcher, The Man in the High Castle) alongside Sanaa Hamri (Empire, The Wheel of Time) will be making their return to the show as the executive producers and directors for the new season. They both co-executive produced a few episodes in the first and second seasons. Stefan Schwartz (The Boys, The Americans) will also be joining the team for the first time, and each of the directors will manage a couple of episodes.
According to Prime Video, the show has been praised by fans and critics earning Rotten Tomatoes prestigious Certified Fresh scores for both seasons. Prime also states that still to this day, the show has had the biggest premiere in the history of the platform. The showrunners for the series include J.D. Payne (Star Trek Beyond, Godzilla vs. Kong) and Patrick McKay (A View to Kill, A Christmas Carol).
Seasons one and two of The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power are available for streaming on Prime Video.
