Damon Lindelof’s adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s novel The Leftovers has gotten a series order at HBO, Vulture has learned.
The first season will consist of ten episodes and star Justin Theroux and Liv Tyler. The show follows the unlucky few people who remain stuck on Earth three years after the Rapture.
Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who) and Amy Brenneman (Private Practice) will appear in the first season.
Lindelof co-wrote and will be the showrunner. Friday Night Light’s Peter Berg directed the pilot.
